Reading List

I haven't discussed our honeymoon plans yet, but RC and I will be traveling down to Florida to spend a week on a quiet little island. I am so looking forward to a week of relaxation on the beach and one-on-one time with my hubby-to-be! We've already talked about how most of our week will be spent lounging and reading on the beach.

I am so looking forward to being able to read for enjoyment. Post-graduation I know so many of evenings will be filled with me curling up on the couch with a book after work. So, between the honeymoon and transitioning to a little more free time (hello, weekends not spent studying) I've been racking my brain to compile a list of all the books I've been meaning to read.
So, my few, but dearly loved followers please let me know of any suggestions you have!

My list to date:
(beach/poolside reads)
Heart of the Matter- Emily Griffin
Water for Elephants- Sara Gruen
The Unlikely Disciple- Kevin Roose
Poison- Sara Poole
The Diplomat's Wife- Pam Jenoff
*A number of these reads are from d.a.r one of my fav, fav bloggers!

(more literary works)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest- Ken Kesey
The Grapes of Wrath- John Steinbeck
To Kill a Mockingbird- Harper Lee (reread)
All the Kings Men- Robert Penn Warren (reread- one of my favorites)

Flashback Friday

This is a picture of my brother and I with our two cousins at Disney World.
By the Fall of 2011, all of us will have been enrolled at THE true university of South Carolina....
CLEMSON UNIVERSITY
I guess it's become quite of a family tradition.
We are full of bulldogs, tigers, & cougars and by the grace of God no 'cocks!

... Can you guess which one I am? :)

Flashback Friday

"Sometimes it's the smallest decisions that change your life forever."

Back in the summer of 2007 I took a trip to Atlanta with this studly kid I'd had a crush on since middle school. I had no idea that trip would be the catalyst for our relationship and that just a few months later we would start dating. Look how young we look and all of RC's hair!

So you're telling me there's a chance!

So the day has finally come. RC's orders were posted! And what did we find out?
Nothing, really. We received dates for his training, which we already had.
And you know that really big thing... like where we will be stationed...
our first place to really call home as a married couple...

This is what he was told "Projected tentative permanent duty is _______ .
This assignment... is subject to change based on Army... blah blah blah..."

_______ is a really, really (can I stress one more time REALLY) nice place.
Like perfect for this Southern girl. We thought this PCS was a shot in the dark.
So tell me Army, why do you feel like teasing me....
It's not fair to get me excited when you're only giving me a 50-50 chance...

So, to avoid all possible frustrations I'm looking at beautiful sandy beaches
and quoting one of the best movies of all time, Dumb and Dumber...

What I'm Loving Wednesday

[1]. I am loving that my Atlanta Braves are doing well under the leadership of Fredi G. I miss Bobby Cox like nobody's business! In all honesty I even told RC that I feel like Bobby was one of my grandfathers. (Remember that I've been going to games since I was like 10.) BUT I don't think the team has lost a step under Fredi. Atlanta Braves taking back the NL East!!

[2]. I am also loving that I'm having my bridal shower this weekend! I am so looking forward to seeing all of my aunts and friends from home again. I have no idea what kind of festivities are in-store, but I am so excited. Check that, I do know that it's kitchen themed... so fingers crossed for a Kitchen-Aid mixer! ;)

[3]. And lastly, I am head over heels in love with this weather. I feel like I may turn into a jaded lover though. South Carolina weather is so bi-polar. One day it's 80s and sunny and the next it's 20 degrees colder and raining. But the forecast for the rest of this week and the weekend looks amazing.

Back to Bloggin'

With a new blog design that I am fairly happy* with I am ready to get back to bloggin'!

Today, I'm linking up with Carissa @ Lowercase Letters for Miscellany Monday.

[1] Drinks downtown with friends, time in the sun, re-watching Liar Liar & Runaway Bride made for a relaxing and perfect weekend! Plus, I got ahead on school work and snuck in a date with OAO. I sure missed that kid. Sadly, it will be another 2 weeks before I get to see him again.

[2] A couple of OAO's friends found out their orders for after officer training. I am starting to get really anxious... I want to know where we'll be PCS'd, dang it! Oh and by the way, I have nooo idea if I even used that good ol' Army acronym correctly. Geesh, I'm in for a rude awakening.

[3] I don't know if you remember this post, but that chain link on my wall is getting reeeeally small. Only 41 days to go. I am so blessed to be marrying such a wonderful man!
