What I'm Loving Wednesday

[1]. I am loving that my Atlanta Braves are doing well under the leadership of Fredi G. I miss Bobby Cox like nobody's business! In all honesty I even told RC that I feel like Bobby was one of my grandfathers. (Remember that I've been going to games since I was like 10.) BUT I don't think the team has lost a step under Fredi. Atlanta Braves taking back the NL East!!

[2]. I am also loving that I'm having my bridal shower this weekend! I am so looking forward to seeing all of my aunts and friends from home again. I have no idea what kind of festivities are in-store, but I am so excited. Check that, I do know that it's kitchen themed... so fingers crossed for a Kitchen-Aid mixer! ;)

[3]. And lastly, I am head over heels in love with this weather. I feel like I may turn into a jaded lover though. South Carolina weather is so bi-polar. One day it's 80s and sunny and the next it's 20 degrees colder and raining. But the forecast for the rest of this week and the weekend looks amazing.

Back to Bloggin'

With a new blog design that I am fairly happy* with I am ready to get back to bloggin'!

Today, I'm linking up with Carissa @ Lowercase Letters for Miscellany Monday.

[1] Drinks downtown with friends, time in the sun, re-watching Liar Liar & Runaway Bride made for a relaxing and perfect weekend! Plus, I got ahead on school work and snuck in a date with OAO. I sure missed that kid. Sadly, it will be another 2 weeks before I get to see him again.

[2] A couple of OAO's friends found out their orders for after officer training. I am starting to get really anxious... I want to know where we'll be PCS'd, dang it! Oh and by the way, I have nooo idea if I even used that good ol' Army acronym correctly. Geesh, I'm in for a rude awakening.

[3] I don't know if you remember this post, but that chain link on my wall is getting reeeeally small. Only 41 days to go. I am so blessed to be marrying such a wonderful man!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm so torn right now. I am MORE than ready for the weekend, but hesitant to wish it to get here quickly because I have 4 exams next week! Oh well, I'm still excited to link up with Jamie for WILW!

1. Pitchers and catchers report in 5 days! I am so ready for baseball to start. I need the boys of summer to get here fast! I've always had a soft spot in my heart for catchers. Here's the Atlanta Braves 2011 starting catcher and my favorite player
Mr. Brian McCann aka: BMac/ Babyface.

4 time NL Silver Slugger award winner :)
My mom and I ordered our invitations this past weekend.
This lovely picture that is going to be on the front!
Doesn't RC look so handsome? :)

John Corbett + Parenthood = LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
I'm so stoked about the new addition to the Parenthood family.
I LOVE this show and think John Corbett is going to be a fabulous addition.
It's going to be so hard for me to hate him for being a deadbeat dad.

Don't Judge....

Yes, I'm 22 years old.
And yes, I made a paper chain to count down.
What can I say? -child-like enthusiasm. :)

100 Days!

Only 100 Days until the Big Day!

Credit

I am so excited. I feel like these 100 days are going to fly by!

Today has already been super successful.
My mom and I went by and signed the cake contract.
I had my first fitting for my wedding dress, and I am still in love with it. :)
I can't wait to see the final product when it's the right length and has the french bustle!
AND I got my bangs trimmed. I was debating whether or not grow them out for the wedding.
Well, the bangs are here to stay!

What’s Left to Do:
-bridal portraits
-wedding invitations
-finalize floral arrangements
-finalize song choices & vows
-purchase wedding cake knife
-purchase wedding cake topper
-purchase garter set
-order bridesmaid's gifts
-PLUS many more little details I'm forgetting... :)

P.S.
My mom and I are going to see The King's Speech tonight!
I'm pumped! I'll have to post a review later.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

1. One of my classes was cancelled. This leaves me with work and only ONE class.

2. Courtney and I are treating ourselves to Clemson's famous icecream at 55 Exchange. I have literally been craving this delicious stuff since we made plans to go. Now my only dilemma is what flavor to get!

3. Tomorrow I'm going home. I'm so excited to see my family. :) I've missed them.

4. I'm going home because Friday I have my first dressing fitting! I am beyond excited- like giddy, butterflies in the stomach excited. :) PLUS this will be the first time I get to try on my fabulous shoes. Eeeekkk, I can't wait!

5. Our family favorite Steelers will be bruising bodies this Sunday in the Super Bowl baby. :) You better believe everyone in my family will be decked out in their jerseys with their terrible towels waving.

6. That prophetic rodent has declared Spring is coming early.
Though I doubt this is true I welcome any news of warm weather with open arms!

Here's to sunshine and flipflops!

And You Can Totally Wear It Again...

Friday night was a blast! My lovely bridesmaids (minus one) and I went out for dinner at the delicious Copper River and then headed over to David's Bridal to try on their dresses! It was a total girls night with one cute, fat little baby as the exception! :)

It was so good to have all of us together. Everyone had previously met except for two of the girls. Everyone got along so well and I am so blessed to have so many beautiful, talented, and gracious women as friends. I have been HORRIBLE about taking pictures this semester. So I don't have ANY pictures from  Friday night.  :(

So the next time you see all of their lovely faces together will be when they're wearing these fabulous dresses! And I mean they can TOTALLY wear these dresses again. (Not that every brides doesn't say that, haha) But seriously, it's a LBD! ;)

WILW + Wedding Wednesday

I can definitely tell you what I'm loving today... GOOD NEWS!

Yesterday, amid a day full of class, I was surprised with some FABULOUS news! My wedding dress is in! An entire month earlier than expected. I am so excited and ready to go home for a fitting. :) So, with the exciting news of my dress' arrival, my mind has quickly flipped from sociology reading to wedding planning! Only 115 days! :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Today I'm linking up with Jamie over at This Kind of Love for 'What I'm Loving Wednesday'. IMO, it is so much easier to be appreciative when you know the week is half-way over! Yay, Hump Day!

1.  My Secret Girl Scout Cookie Stash
That's right, I've got connections. Connections that allow me to have a niiiice, cold stash of Peanut Butter Patties AND Peanut Butter Sandwiches (Do-Si-Dos) in my freezer. Yum! :) P.S: If you are not eating your Girl Scout Cookies out of the freezer make a mental note to do so when Girl Scout Cookie season rolls around! They are delish, believe me!

2.  Fall is FINALLY here
I love Fall. It is probably my favorite season. The cool, crisp weather. The beautiful colors on the trees. Everything about it is perfect-- college football, Thanksgiving, The Fair, pumpkins, and my list could go on and on. Technically it's been fall for awhile now, but until recently the weather has not gotten the memo. The last couple days have been absolutely beautiful and perfect fall weather! Another wonderful fact about fall, cute coats and scarves!

3. Signing on the Dotted Line
The contracts for our ceremony site, reception site, caterer, and photographer are rolling in. We have officially signed one contract! Although I am so excited to know that we have a place to get married, it still makes me nervous to know that the Army could have completely different plans. Please hurry up March, so I can plan with no worries!

Welcome Back Normalcy

I am so relieved after an extremely productive weekend at home. Every day was jammed pack with wedding stuff from reception locations to taste-testing to wedding dresses and engagement pictures. But I can not tell you how relieved I am to have accomplished so much. With the Big 4 (ceremony location, reception location, catering, and DRESS!!) details in their final stages of planning I feel like I can relax and be me again. The rest of the little details with fall in place over time. Balancing schoolwork, changing our wedding date and overall just planning a long-distance wedding was becoming a little bit stressful. And I know I was not a pleasant person to be around.

Now knowing that I have:
1. a beautiful chapel to exchange vows in
2. a unique cottage on the water for our reception
3. a wedding dress I am absolutely in love with
4. a man I admire, respect, trust, and love immensely
...
should make me a happy, happy person! :) I am so blessed and I need to remember that! So welcome back, Normal Me and goodbye, Crazy Lady! I hope you stick around for quite awhile.

29 October, 2010

Hello, all.

I'm coming across some big life-changing moments that I want to document! Among many other things, college has taught me how quickly life passes by. It's hard to believe I am in my fourth and final year of college. With graduation, a wedding, and Army life quickly approaching I know it will be easy to get caught up with the day-to-day details of schoolwork and wedding planning. So, this is where my blog comes into play- to document experiences, appreciate the little things & hopefully years from now look back and see how much I've grown. Enjoy reading!
